Message from the MMVC president:

This year for the first time since the 60's Bozeman is going to have a veterans memorial day parade sponsored by post 14 Bozeman VFW. Their goal is to have a significant impact on the community and create an annual event. We have been invited to participate in a significant way that will require as many MV's as we can muster. We are in agreement that the vehicles that participate in the event need to be parade ready. In progress vehicles will not participate. We have two months to get vehicles ready so if you are close, it is conceivable that you can be ready. Let me clarify parade ready for this can be a coat of paint but it dose not have to be perfect. Call me if you have questions on this point. We will help you get ready. Also if you wear a uniform it will need to be correct. There are going to be too many military and high ranking military personal at this event to not be correct in our presentation. Vehicles that are in original condition such as Bill Webster's M-38 will be permitted.

The guest of honor is General Norman Schwarzkopf as well as several other one and two star generals, Ft Lewis I-Corps 56th Army band, Pipers, Marine Corps League. In addition there are up to four celerity performers whom we have been asked too not divulge at this time. This event is to honor veterans not to have a county music concert. The performers who are coming are coming to honor fallen veterans. The organizers do not want to lose that focus and be overwhelmed by crowds. The people who show up for the parade to honor our fallen will be pleasantly surprised.

Also if you guys know others who are not members who have a vehicle that is parade ready you need not be a member of our club to participate. They will however be under our direction for this event. At present we will be transporting: WWll Vets, Korean Vets, Vietnam Vets, and Woman Vets. In short I think we are transporting all the Veterans.

Message from the MMVC president:

I want to thank everyone who was able to help with the memorial day parade. By all accounts it was a tremendous success. We can take pride in the fact that the military vehicle component had a large impact and was very well received. I would like to thank Ray Jeno for coming all the way from Hardin to participate. The WLA was the envy of the patriot riders, they got to see a real Harley. I would also like to thank Al, Tobe, Steve Opp and Wayne for stepping up to drive vehicles that needed drivers. Thanks are also in order to Bill Webster, Mike V, and Donna Garbe for allowing us to use their vehicles. Mike A, Richard Galli and Hank thanks for coming to the meetings and supporting the clubs participation in this event. Thanks to Rich Morris for ramroding the 2 1/2 ton restoration and taking the lead in helping Bill get it on the road.

Well done to all...
Steve
